Job function SCALINX IT department is actively seeking an energetic and motivated IT technician. In this capacity, the chosen candidate will be instrumental in the hands-on support and maintenance of our IT systems. Interacting across all departments, the IT Technician will play a crucial role in swiftly resolving technical issues, ensuring seamless operations, and supporting the organization's commitment to technological innovation and excellence.

Work description 

  • Manage Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Administer and secure Linux-based servers within an on-premise network.
  • Configure and maintain virtual machines using VMware.
  • Provide efficient tier-one technical support to end-users.
  • Utilize ticketing systems for incident tracking and resolution.
  • Offer remote assistance for users.
  • Implement and adhere to security best practices.
  • Scripting for task automation to streamline operational processes.
  • Communicate effectively with end-users and team members.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Apply analytical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Collaborate within a small team environment, contributing to knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstrate adaptability in dynamic IT environments.
  • Monitor system performance and generate reports on key metrics.
  • Regular business trips to our sites and our Data Center (approximately once a month)

Qualification and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Linux server management.
  • Virtualization (VMware).
  • Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Implement and maintain security best practices.
  • Scripting for task automation.
  • Provide tier-one support.
  • Ticketing system proficiency.
  • Remote support experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Document procedures and configurations.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive issue identification.
  • Collaborate in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Monitor system performance and generate reports.
  • Fluent English & French
