Job function SCALINX IT department is actively seeking an energetic and motivated IT technician. In this capacity, the chosen candidate will be instrumental in the hands-on support and maintenance of our IT systems. Interacting across all departments, the IT Technician will play a crucial role in swiftly resolving technical issues, ensuring seamless operations, and supporting the organization's commitment to technological innovation and excellence.
Work description
- Manage Microsoft 365 applications, ensuring optimal performance.
- Administer and secure Linux-based servers within an on-premise network.
- Configure and maintain virtual machines using VMware.
- Provide efficient tier-one technical support to end-users.
- Utilize ticketing systems for incident tracking and resolution.
- Offer remote assistance for users.
- Implement and adhere to security best practices.
- Familiarity with scripting for task automation to streamlining operational processes.
- Communicate effectively with end-users and team members.
- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
- Apply analytical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Collaborate within a small team environment, contributing to knowledge sharing.
- Demonstrate adaptability in dynamic IT environments.
- Monitor system performance and generate reports on key metrics.
- Regular business trips to our sites and our Data Center (approximately once a month)
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 administration.
- Linux server management.
- Virtualization (VMware).
- Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Implement and maintain security best practices.
- Basic scripting for task automation (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
- Provide tier-one support.
- Ticketing system proficiency.
- Remote support experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Document procedures and configurations.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proactive issue identification.
- Willingness to learn and adapt.
- Monitor system performance and generate reports.
- Fluent English & French
